Can a single gene expression detect all forms of melanoma

The myPath test was engineered from the outset to detect all forms of melanoma. The goal was to identify a gene expression signature shared by the majority of all melanomas, regardless of size, subtype, stage, and whatever underlying constellation of mutations they might harbor. In other words, the myPath test was designed to detect a ‘final common pathway’ of sorts, a gene expression phenotype that is largely independent of morphology and genotype.
